Oxygen Sensor Tester Art No. 51.1300 This inexpensive tool quickly and easily tests oxygen sensors
The oxygen sensor senses the amount of oxygen in the exhaust after combustion. It then produces a voltage of 0 to 1 volt. If the amount of oxygen in the exhaust is high the oxygen sensor will produce a low voltage (below 450 millivolts). If the amount of oxygen in the exhaust is low the sensor will produce a high voltage (above 450 millvolts). The Scan-Tech oxygen sensor tester easily tests the voltage output from the oxygen sensor. An LED lights when the sensor produces a high voltage and goes off when the sensor falls below a low voltage. This tester can make testing an oxygen sensor simple.

Checklist:
1. Check the number of cables on the Original Sensor
2. Check the colour of the cables.
A. If the Original Sensor has a Black, Grey, Purple or White cable it's a ordinary Sensor.
B. If the Sensor has a Red cable it's a Titanium Oxygen Sensor.

What They Do:
The Oxygen Sensor (also know as Lamda sensor) is located in the exhaust manifold. It measures the amount of 'unburned' oxygen in the exhaust and signals the car´s onboard computer whether the mixture is too lean or too rich.
